correct although I am not sure why you keep referring to left and right channels.
That is nomenclature to use when referring to interconnects, not speaker cable.
Anyway, have fun. The Valencias punch way above their weight.

I was reading through this thread and had a question regarding the terminal bindings. I purchased my Flamencos yesterday and am having trouble determining if they are in phase. The picture indicates the right is positive (+). Is this counter to the way they are stock?

I'm going on memory here, so please double check. I wanna say there was a brown internal wire going from the drivers to one channel of your hookups.
I believe the brown wire may be the RIGHT channel. The other color (maybe yellow) would of course, be LEFT.

Thanks Don. I took the back panel off and looked at the wiring. Like Junker mentioned, the yellow is left, and brown is right. If yellow is positive then it is labeled incorrectly. I switched it up.

Wrong connection I guess (if red is +, and yellow is +)

I re-wired and only had time to listen to one song. I want to say I noticed less dynamics. I'll have to listen some more. Thanks again for all the great info on this thread!

Well this is confusing. I re-read the thread the saw the schematic for the crossover that jdandy posted and in that picture it seems like the brown is the positive. Plus, I have to believe that the back is labeled correctly. Supposedly my Flamenco was one owner, never modified, nor even took the back panel off and it has the right terminal labeled as "+". I'll keep researching. In terms of sound, after I switched it back I listened to some Rod Stewart and it sounded fantastic, very lively. Putting it the other way I noticed a real lack of dynamics. I'll keep researching, appreciate the help!

CFz.......Here is something to help you determine which speaker terminal is positive (+). First, reconnect the speaker as it was originally. Use a 1.5 volt AA battery and two short pieces of wire attached to the positive and negative speaker terminals. Touch the wires briefly to each end on the AA battery. If the woofer cone moves out, the wire on the positive side of the battery is the positive (+) speaker terminal. If the woofer draws in, then the wire on the negative side of the battery is the speaker's positive (+) terminal.

Look at the sealed aluminum crossover can and if it says N-800-F then I am referencing the correct crossover.

Other versions of the N-800 may invert phase internally for one of the drivers or something due to the positioning of the horn driver to the LF driver I dunno about the speaker input polarity though. Both of my pairs were consistent with this, as it was when i personally Dremeled away the weld and and de-tar'd to reverse-engineer my crossovers.

I can't speak to what labeling and wiring you saw because that's not what I had, so what jdandy posts is a great piece of advice for checking phase to confirm. Maybe your pair was made on a monday or friday.

Looking at your pic is that + symbol hand drawn?? And looking at the left side I see a plus symbol without black ink in it.

I'm sticking to my story...

I'm going to try the battery trick I think, that seems to be the only way to know for sure. To do that I'll have to take the back off again, since I won't be able to tell if the woofer is moving forward or backward without putting my finger on the back of the paper woofer.

The "+" looks too perfect to be hand drawn in my opinion, on both. Unless the previous owner put them there with a ruler or something. I can also see how it looks like a "+" symbol etched in the left but it's really just a slash from what I can tell.

Thanks for your help gents!
