As for 'break in' time, I for one feel 600 hrs is overblown. Listen and enjoy !
Tks for the info Mikado463

Thanks,,
For sure but give me some time as breaking in a phono pre-amp will take ages as I have to play many LP's. will probably update every 100 hours.

If you have a CD player, you should try the granite audio break in cd. It worked a charm on my accuphase c37 which was not pleasant out of the box. Saves time and wear and tear on the cartridge and lps.

I have a CD player. But how do you break in a phono pre with the CD player?

Default Break in

If I just leave the PH9 on without playing any LPs would that be breaking in?

You connect the CD player to the phono pre and then play the cd on repeat at a particular frequency (if I recall correctly). I may have those hook up details confused, but Look up granite audio for the details, but it worked like a charm for me. Took several days and cost about $30. Best of all, the cartridge/stylus and albums are all un-disturbed.

do not get yourself bent out of shape with ultra hour break-in time, 80% BS. I've owned ARC gear for over 35 years and never have I felt or heard the need for crazy run-in times.

So audio out from CD player to audio in phono pre I presume. Will give it a go.
By the way I’m using clearaudio innovation compact and universal arm, we have similar setup. Wish I had the Lyra cart.

Thank you Weirdcuba.

So how many hours would you think for full break in? My pre and power took 500 hours before it really settle down.

You stated that it(PH9) sounds amazing out of the box, so if you think that after 600 hrs you can 'quantify' something better than 'amazing' ??? It is impossible for human auditory memory to comprehend that kind of timespan.
