By the way, no comments on the first photo? Purely a happy co-incidence, which I spotted after the event. Does everyone see it?
First photo? Humm, I don't see anything special? Did I miss something?

Unfortunately, I don't have the "luxury" to be at home now as I am currently in Shanghai (I live in Canada, in Montréal suburbs).

At the time I purchased my TT, I had no phono pre-amp, so I could not use it anyway. But then, my friend sold me his McIntosh C712 which has the phono stage integrated. Because of that, I decided to upgrade all my Rotel gear to McIntosh haha. I was more eager to listen to my CD collection with my new gear, and jeezz, what a difference.

I have still a few things to do in order to have it fully functionning. First, to get back home. Second, buy a decent audio rack (I am looking at the Lovan Sovereign) to have some room to accomodate the TT. Third, get a decent cartdridge.

But you know, it is difficult to miss something you don't know I never heard any vynil spinning at my home, yet!

I've never had the pleasure...though have heard good things.
Thanks indeed. I can't compare it to anything else as my last TT was a 1970's Sony DD. Most folks suggest it's about as good as an MM can get.

I think RaceTripper is going for the MC Talisman V2, so maybe he did compare that to the Maestro or has a preference for MC and a suitably symbiotic phono stage to handle loading etc.

I was going to get the Maestro (which I have not heard), but decided to step up another $500 to the Talisman v2 (which I have heard). I am using Musical Surrounding's Nova Phonomena which has the most loading options I've seen on a phono stage. The Talisman v2 is optimal with 400-500 ohms loading, which the Phonomena supports.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Maestro, but I have not listened to it.

Thanks for clarifying, Dean.

Oh, snap, look what landed on my wall bracket this afternoon...with a Talisman v2.

But it's not mine to keep...

Only a little while. My dealer gave it to me to play with until after the weekend. This bad boy seems prone to LF feedback. I have my KAB RF1 low pass filter on.

Working on finding best settings with my Nova Phonomena. Currently at 60 db gain and 475 ohm loading.

Try 380 ohms also try a lower gain setting 57 or 58db......to me 60 is a smidge too much for the talisman although YMMV!.....make sure the feet are snug
