Great choice on the TA. Now you will be wanting to upgrade that cartridge (it never ends ).

They're both very nice arms. I have a 12" Universal w/ VTA and it's a wonderful arm, and greatly adjustable, though I'm not sure that the VTA lifter adds much value (very limited adjustment range for a reduction in rigidity, though perhaps something's wrong with mine). The Universal pairs great with Shelter Harmony, but avoid pairing with a Koetsu stone. My dealer paired my old Innovation up with another Universal and an Ortofon A90, so I'd assume those are good matches as well.
I've played with the Magnify at my dealer's and it's a nice arm too, but the Universal has a better quality look & feel. The one Clearaudio arm I can't stand is the one with the pure magnetic bearing (the Magnify is a hybrid that works much better) -- that thing is a nightmare unless you're on concrete slab floors! |

I quite like the Delos and don’t know how much of an upgrade I’d get with the Kleos. I’ve read nothing but raves about the Ortofon Cadenza Bronze, so that’s tempting. Any other cart suggestions?

I really wish they'd offer the Ovation w/ Magnify as the base package, rather than the Clarify -- and at the same price, of course! That would be one hell of a killer package. But jumping right up to the Universal is smooth -- that'll be a beautiful setup, congrats! |

My Clearaudio Ovation / Universal has arrived, been unpacked and set up, and is now playing Gillian Welch and David Rawlings as sweet as can be. Set up was easy and straight forward and the arm is not only very adjustable but also easy to adjust. No freaking wobble (yeah I’m talking about you unipivot). Dead silent black background, rock solid pitch/speed. The album I’m playing is voice and acoustic guitar, right in the sweet spot for my Harbeths, and sounds amazingly natural. Since I play and sing, but not nearly as well, I am used to hearing live acoustic music on a daily basis. This is what it sounds like. Very nice indeed.

Gorgeous - that there is a real-deal high end analog setup! Diminishing returns hit HARD beyond this point. Glad to see you also have a very nice rigid rack (Steve Blinn?) under your maple platform, rather than one of those awful VTI-like racks which just can't be fixed with piled on platforms/footers. I know because I struggled along with a Lovan for far too long. Arm looks great! Good job making sure your arm was up to snuff with the table.
Man and that Esoteric phono too -- looks like you've got a superbly balanced system there! |

Let's blow this thing up. Beautiful. Bet it sounds as good as it looks.

Thanks gentlemen. Yes that is a Steve Blinn rack (highly recommended). Now I just need to have the Quadro record weight come in and I’ll be good to go. It does sound quite lovely.
