Default What are you using for wires on your system?

Hi guys,

Just curious what you are using for interconnects and speaker cables and what have you tried?

I am using Kubala Sosna Elation XLR's and Tara Omega Onyx speaker cables mostly by default because they were what I settled with on my Dart system.

I am using the stock power cables. I tried a Nordost Vallhalla and Harmonix Tech AC11 on my amp and neither made any difference.

Hi Jim,

I'm going to be purchasing Kimber Select IC's (KS-1116) and SC's (KS-6063) to go with my Soulution 5 series and Raidho D3. I was referred to these cables by my dealer and several others who found terrific synergy with them between Soulution and Raidho. The pricing is very reasonable but the performance is way up there. I'll report back when they're in my system and I've had a chance to evaluate them.

Best,
Ken

Cyrill Hammer the president of Solution recommends Vovox cables of Switzerland for Soulution gear. I heard them at this years CES on the 711 amp driving the Alexia's and was suitably impressed. They were also paired with the 701 mono blocks driving the Q7's.

Alon has been using them over the last few months.

Best of all, they are not outrageously priced. All they need now is an American distributor.

I have all WW Silver Eclipse. I never thought that good wire could make an improvement. I was wrong, the WW silver Eclipse line is excellent!

Ditto.

I was using a 20 year old HomeDepot speaker cable on my Vienna Acoustics and a pair of AudioQuest cables on my Martin Logan Summits X speakers.

Recently, I purchased a pair of WW Silver Eclipse from Ivan for my Summits and moved the AudioQuest to the Vienna Acoustics. Prior to the switch, I did test and appreciated a vast sonic improvement over the HomeDepot cables when removing the HomeDepot cable to the WW Silver Eclipse. This may be because the HomeDepot Cable is truly the bottom feeder of cables.

However, when I switched back and forth between the AudioQuest and WW cables...sonically they seem on par with the AudioQuest. I have no complaints.

I am now using AudioQuest XLRs and Power Cables and one WW Platinum Coax. I have nothing to compare too. So for me, everything sounds great.

Also heard the Vovox/Soulution/Q7 combo at CES. Have now had a demo set of Vovox ICs and SCs in my system for about two weeks.

Very neutral and transparent. They basically disappear.

I'm going to hate to see them go.

Why are you letting them go?

I tried some elation speaker cables. The emphasized the base and treble. The Tara's seemed much more neutral. Who knows?

Have to return them next week because they are demo set on temporary loan. Fully intend to acquire a new set, however.
