Default Original Cremona or Cremona Auditor M

Hi guys,
I need help making a decision. I have the opportunity of getting either a pair of used original Sf Cremonas (full range) or a pair of Cremona Auditor M with stands. I've read everything posted here and all I could find on the net about these speakers. I won't be able to audition these but have been able to audition a pair of Cremona M (full range) at a local store.

What I have been able to gather is that the original Cremonas are sweeter sounding and being a full range speaker will have greater range, plus they were voiced by Franco. The new Ms seem to be more detailed and faster.

They will be driven with a mcintosh MA6600. I'll be using it for 80% music (mostly Jazz) and 20% HT. so if it were you, which one would you go for and why: original cremonas (full range) or cremona M auditors?
thanks

How big is your room. You may enjoy the monitors better in a small room and the full range cremonas ina larger room.
either way, theyre SF so you cant make a bad choice

Hey, you stole my answer :-).

I will also add that - based on my experience with them - the "older" Cremonas are a bit warmer and more forgiving.

I had a pair of the older Auditors and loved them. The only reason I changed them was an opportunity to get a pair of Guarneri Homage from someone literally down the street from my house.

I'd go for the full-range then - unless you want to add a couple of subs to the auditors.

I've owned Cremona Auditors, Guarneri Mementos and had a pair of Cremona M as a long term loaner from my dealer. Still own 8 SF speakers in my theater.

Your analysis of the M vs original is pretty much spot on. The Ms are also great speakers after a lengthy break in period with synergistic gear but in your case considering the room size and your amplification, the original Cremonas will be just the ticket!

Another vote for the original Cremona.
Enjoy 'em!

I've got them and yes they are absolutely everything I've heard - truly great.
I'm trying to experiment with positioning now. they seem to do better in my room with no toe-in. setting them up this way they almost completely disappear leaving a beautiful soundstage in between them. however, I'd like a bit more depth in the soundstage.

any tips on placement?
