Thanks for the update

I'm also seriously considering this amp.
Good point

Jeff...did you get any recommendations on break-in period from ARC? The caps in the Ref Anniv pre are supposed to need 500-600 hrs break-in time.

Dave Gordon at ARC told me that it will open up significantly at 150 and then continue to improve, so I'm guessing it will be just like my REF 2 Phono was...

But I must say that even right out of the box, it's pretty exciting, so if it has the same amount of improvement that the REF 2 phono did, this could be a staggering amplifier!

Fortunately I'm done with the issue tomorrow and can do some serious listening!

Several weeks ago I listened to the Ref150 driving a pair of Wison Sashas. Music sounded wonderful. I must also tell you that the rest of the system was ARC's Ref 8 CD player and the awesome Ref 40 Anniversary Pre.

You are going to be a very happy Ref 150 owner.

Mike

And it looks like I'm going to have to buy a REF 5 too as my burmester 011 doesnt have enough gain to drive it all the way....

Someone has to do it!

Actually, I had the gain set to "low" on the 011, so I think we're all good, but it kind of makes sense to have an all ARC tube system and an all SS Burmester system. Plus, the REF 2 Phono can drive both, so that keeps things the same.
