Anticipation in this case is a great feeling. Don't forget to take some pictures of the unpacking and set up process.. makes great reference in the future.

Thanks! Mine's just a smaller brother compared to your Strad palladio

Just to mention I've posted some of my experience with Franco's Yter cables under the Yter Cables thread .

Nice set-up.
Are the speakers as deep as they appear in the photos or is that the camera angle?

Thanks! The cabinets are lute shape and deeper than most average floorstanders, but my wide anglr lens made them look even deeper.

very nice, congrats

Interesting. I bought my Strad's just over 3 years ago. my number is 445.

I am guessing that there have been more Strads sold compared to the Amati's. Another member has strads s/n 621.

that is a LOT of high end speakers being sold.

Glad to share a special pair of Amati anniversario with Sf pals here. Extracted from Sonus faber web site on the symbolic naming background of Amati anniversario:

With Amati anniversario, Sonus faber celebrates the birth of Andrea Amati five hundred years ago, the great Maestro of stringed instrument making from Cremona (1505-1577).”

So for the 500th pair, it must be something different right?

Indeed it is different from the rest. This particular pair picks better maple slabs for its cabinet, and is finished in high gloss & unstained to boldly shine the beauty of its natural maple wood grain. The drivers and binding posts are just like a standard Amati anniversario, unlike the Palladio version, which has different stone driver phase plugs and silver WBT binding posts.

There you have it, the special 500th pair of the Amati anniversario sitting in my system, sounding sweet as ever

... the right side speaker looks a bit stretched due to wide angle lens
Hello,
From the photo i see a center channel (Cremona?) in your system.
Could you please share your thoughts on mating the Amati with that center speaker?

I am considering the possibility to buy a set of Amati anniversario and the lack of center is putting me on hold for a moment in case the Amati wont focus well when watching TV. Ok, I am just thinking loud.
This is my first post here...
Thank you
