None of us need Sonus Faber speakers but many people purchase them for both their SQ and Industrial Design. What you are saying is that you will get the same sound out of basic speakers from a Big Box Store as you will from SF in the video set-up. If that is true then those same Big Box speakers will perform just as good in a more traditional set-up. I disagree.

I don't think so. A really crappy setup will compromise the better speaker more than it will a fundamentally crappy one. There is more to compromise.

Take to the extreme. Throw a towel over the speakers and put them in the corner and it will be hard to distinguish them.

I disagree with your logic. I have seen and heard several set-ups similar to the one shown here (and actually lived with one for awhile) Only us anal audiophiles would have complained about the sound and even then a bad room would impact the sound to a greater degree.
