Thanks, what speaker cables are you guys using? Has anybody had experience comparing ocos with cardas?

I've used neither. Since I have a Naim amp powering my S3.4s I use Naim's NACA5 speaker cable. I have used Transparent Audio in the past for Dynaudio speakers and that works very well, but just not as well as Naim cable on a Naim amp, in my experience.

Hey guys, I have a pair of Confidence C1's driven by an Octave V70SE, w/Black Box. It is the best sound I have had yet. Cables are Nordost Tyr SC and ICs. Just got a Meitner MA-1, also.

I bet that sounds amazing...there is supposed to be a lot of synergy between Dyn & Octave...enjoy!

I heard my turntable (Ovation/Talisman) with an Octave driving a pair of C2s. Amazing!

I see a pair of C2 mkII's in the not too distant (after I buy a house) future though! I also need to look into upgrading my vinyl rig which consists of an old Revox B791 linear tracking table, basic Ortofon cart. and a small NAD phono pre. Enjoying digital too much lately though! Back to amplification - the Octave is wonderful. I use it with the Genalex Gold Lion KT88 (new series, not NOS) and it's great. The preamp tubes are stock. The guys on the Dynaudio Owner's Thread (probably some of the same ones posting here) said it was OK to drive C2's with, so I don't see myself parting with it any time soon. Lovely piece. |
