Well, I have only upgraded one cable so far this year, but it did get me to a Transparent Audio Gen 5 Ultra balanced ICs from the dac to integrated amp.

The BIG step is I found a nice pair of lovingly cared for used original Rockport Technologies Aviors at a nice price. They have been purchased and should be here at their new home in a couple of weeks! That should be a nice step up from my Atria. 😁

A follow-up to this thread - so, in fact, we were able to realize the prediction I made back in January - completed the small Bryston rig, added vinyl playback, upgraded interconnects (WW), and had the customized unit by Attocha Design built, about a three month COVID delay.

Shown is the summer configuration; we have a winter config as well - far better acoustically as the speakers move to flank the fireplace and seating moves to be fireplace-centric. The Attocha moves to the opposite wall; speaker and ethernet runs in place. My wife indulges my audio; I indulge her desire to mix things up.

Never write what you say you plan to do or even would like to do; it has a way of becoming prophetic. I splurged on both a turntable (SOTA Sapphire) and TV (65" Sony A9G OLED), and have also splurged on a Furman IT-Reference 15i, the latter not because I thought my Elite-15PFi was inadequate, but to have a visual match for the Furman SPR-20i I have already; I got a really nice deal on an open-box unit, otherwise I would have skipped the purchase.

The three put together mean over $10K, including tax. I am truly done, because that's too much money and it will have to be paid off. Didn't expect to buy any of this really, except maybe the power cords mentioned in my previous post. Now, I've decided the cords I have are awesome and don't need replacing, if only by default.

Oh, throw in a new antenna for my tuner and another HDMI cable. I am DONE! Not only now, but well into next year, too!

Hmm, this was an uneventful year for me. Bought 3 high resolution albums as far as I remember. No plans for next year so far. Very un-audiophile like, I know...

The first part of the year went according to plan: cables are now all Alpha, I added an EtherRegen and an English8 switch, and rewired/upgraded Ethernet from the server room to the system. In November, the plan went awry: there’s now a new REL Carbon Special sub in the system, and Shunyata Everest and 20a Sigma cable waiting to be picked up at the dealer.
