I called Mcintosh this morning and spoke to Landon Mullen who is a technician there. He was super helpful and sent me the update. I plugged in my usb/rs232 cable and clicked through the menus. It worked without a problem! I went in and re-set all of my settings and all is now good! Before I installed the software I took a quick digital picture of each set up screen so I could quickly put the correct settings back in.

I would be happy to send the MX-119 update to anybody that would like it.

What features/fixes does the new FW have?

I don't know what it might fix or improve, but I am having a couple of issues with my MX-119 and Mcintosh suggested that I update to the latest version to see if it helps. It didn't do anything negative, and it might have helped a little I just can't be certain. I don't know why they are not more specific about what it corrects. Most software companies do detail what improvements the next rev. of software accomplish.

My MX-119 does not always send a multi channel signal to my center and surrounds when I use my remote to select going from two channel listening (my ms750) to multichannel (my dvd). I have to select a couple of other inputs a couple of times and then it works. I thought that the software would fix that, but it didn't. That problem might be related to the intermittent failure of the input, trim select, and surround mode selectors. When I spoke to Ron about this a couple of weeks back he mentioned that they had a lot of them fail. Fortunately each part is only $17, but to service it it will be about $175 or so and I have to take the unit to the authorized facility and be with out my processor for a while.

Question MX132 with schizophrenic optical audio

Just got my first McIntosh and was wondering if this firmware update would work on it? How can you find out the current version? Its a MX132 and the problem is that the input does not stay on while listening to optical audio. For example, while fast-forwarding on a TiVo the audio doesn't always come back when normal play is resumed. Pausing it and playing it again restores functionality. Uninterrupted it plays fine.

Found this packing slip on the web that shows the current version as 1.13?

Also, can you tell me what date my equipment was produced? I got them at an estate sale for great price!
MX132 RH1769
MC7205 NU1781

Its not possibly still under warranty?

Thanks,
Jon

Hi Guys, long time since the last post I see, but I'm in Canada & have no one to take my beloved processor to!! I have never done an update.
I have some issues with my Mx-120 freezing when I use my PVR & now started crackling on my Martin Logans (i trouble shot with another receiver & no issues) I downloaded the firmware on my Apple, used a thumb drive to transfer it on my PC. Please if any one has instructions on how to install the update on my 120. I am definitely not a tech wiz!!
1) do I need any other programs for my PC?
2) is it the 9 prone cord?
3) whats the procedure to install, power on my 120, anything else I have to tell it to do?

Thank you very much if there's any help out there
