LOVE the REL's.
Yeah i should likely revisit my sub setup which was done back when i had my REF 150 which were not well suited to drive the Aida. Now with the REF 750 or the. MC 1.2 KW i get more bass. Even if i have 6 subs i will likely never be able to leave them at 5 volume because my system is on the third floor (not concrete floor) so i get a lot of bass absorption by the floor itself. That said i need to try again to jack up the frequency and lower the volume. Thanks for the remeinder!

Got it I will upload. I need to resize them as they are too big to be inserted here. As well I recently moved all my audio rack to the back of my room leaving only the amplifiers so need to take new pictures anyway...

coming soon...

Actually here is a picture of the setup before it got cleaned up. All the audio gear is now gone from between the speakers...

Tks. Looks better now that I removed the equipment from there and moved to the back. I had taken this pictures when I got the REF 750 and the MC1.2KW at about the same time (replacing my smaller REF 150). That is pretty much when I realized I am starting to have a bit too much stuff :-).

That is one amazing system.. makes me feel pedestrian at most.
Still a stereopair G1's is such a treat, every audiophile should experience what this concept is capable of. It brings so much more, no matter what main speakers used.
With Classical music addiction sets in the very moment.

Remember the REL's have a gliding filter, so if you set -say- at 40Hz this implies a gentle rolloff into the 100's. Voices and most instruments reach just below 100Hz.. The trick is to avoid the REL's 'touching' this region.

Setting too low and upping the volume to hear the bass has a negative effect as well, this is now noticed as a separate entity. The psychological effect is to turn up the volume to still 'get' that part. (soo much money spent, and want that Bass now!) Now when there is a certain recording which does have sub bass suddenly it rams home and stands out separated from the music. With only one sub that effect is killing and all too soon the sub is put up for sale again. And that's a pity.

A nice way to describe a good experience is that the moment you switch off the REL's the soundstage collapse, the big airy experience becomes toy like. You are left with just two speakers doing their best. Switch it back on and you are in the symphony hall again. That is the Zone.
hooked.

wow... I like seeing all of the gear. Did opening up that space dramatically change the staging or was the improvement in sound subtle?
