The Venere and Principia were made in China. When McIntosh took over, they felt those models didn’t fully represent the core values of Sonus Faber and so they discontinued them. The cheapest speakers in the range became the Sonetto which were more like a B&W 700+ series when it came to pricing. The Lumina represents a simpler design that still captures the house sound without the cost. Drivers are derived from the Sonetto’s from what I heard. So it does bode well. Even for its entry level pricing, it still has real wood veneer and leather wrapped cabinets. Would love to see them in the flesh to see how they look. As much as I love my 805 D3 Prestige, I’m always surprised how close the 705S2s come. Perhaps the Lumina will do the same.

I think maybe the demand for their higher end models are not that selling hot like their lower end model so they are focusing more on the lower end market. |
