Krell S-300i
Does anyone here have one or heard one? Seems to be a good value, though they only come in silver unfortunately. Music Direct has them for $1750 right now normally $2500. Might be a nice solid state option to have around with the SF EVOs. 300 watts in 4 ohm load...

I have one that I use to power my whole house system. It handles the load rather nicely but it does generate some heat.
A few years ago we eliminated our great-room/living room system and had a new custom build wall unit built. I still wanted to hide the items that drive the whole house system in the new unit and I knew I would have to hide it behind some cabinet doors. I figured that a Rotel power and pre could handle the job but found out that some load was just too much and picked up the Krell unit. All of a sudden the vocals that were missing from the bedroom speakers returned but so did the heat. Whenever I use the unit I leave the door cracked or power it off if it will not be used for a period of time. |

And the overall sound?
What would you compare it to? I've never heard Krell, only read about them. |
