You should have an "Output 1" and "Output 2" button on the front of your C2300. Those buttons toggle whether the signal is output via the outputs on the back or not. This also lets you easily toggle between sub and no sub mode.

Just looked, yep, it’s there. Thank you, this makes it very simple to connect a sub with this preamp.

Sorry, one more question, do I use the left channel for this?

One sub? Choose either. Two subs (much nicer btw)? Use both. The C2300 makes life easy.

That is the eventual plan is to possibly use two subs.

Do it use Output 1 and 2 or just output 1 with the left and right channel xlr run to the sub?

Use either 1 or 2 and L & R of the one you choose.

One more question....better to run stereo subs using the right and left XLR out or split one XLR out and run mono?

Stereo. Definitely.

Conventional wisdom says there is no bass below 250 Hz and bass can’t be localized.

I beg to differ based on my personal experience with subs run in mono and stereo.

I prefer the stereo connection with subs located adjacent to the mains.

Often you will find the mastering is done with bass in mono (two woofers better than one) but not always. Best to have a pair of subs and each of them seeing independent signal as Tom mentioned above
