Congratulations on your recovery following hip replacement surgery. It'll keep getting better. And makes an enormous improvement in the quality of life.
Thanks, Jim.

And good to hear regading the hip surgery. I seem to be having milestone improvements each week. And, my quality of life is already much improved. So nice to be able to walk again without limping, pain, difficulty, or stability problems.

That which we create with our own imagination, skills and hands is what we tend to remember most? I don’t think I can name all the speakers that came and went over the years, I’m sure I’d miss a pair but I still remember that first pair I put together myself with a soldering iron that must have seen a few world wars in its time....

Glad to hear you are doing well post op and back to enjoying life.

Just an update that with only about 8 hours on them, the GR-Research X-LS Encores are starting to open up and sound very good indeed. The tweeter is very resolving, and the woofer capable of clean, defined and well-articulated bass down to what sounds like 55 Hz or so. I'll bust out the calibrated mic at some point and REW and find out how they performing in the room.

They're quite impressive and I would say fully compete with standmounts in the $3-4K range.
