Soundstage is great and I feel the depth of the presentation often depends on speaker placement. But once placed correctly, the Ref6 will sound superb with them.

Also have a listen to the partnering of the 800D3s with Dan D’Agostino amplifiers with Audio Research preamps.

DD amps made me question my preconceptions that neutral and detailed go hand in hand with harshness.

Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated

With the Dan D’Agostino, what model are you referring to? Never heard them but come with a high price in this part of the world.

Even the Classic Stereo sounds good - and there's a "hack" for turning them into Monos (or if you can get the older Classic Master 2+, it is just a switch at the back)

I’m using a BAT Rex II pre with my Levinson amps and loving it. They can be had for a great price right now as they are preparing to launch the Rex III soon.

A VAC Master linestage would be magical with those forward sounding 800s. I paired the one step down Signature SE with an even more forward sounding pair of 804Ns with great success.
