Do people pay cash (check) for speakers

This is probably more a general question but in my case it is specifically related to Wilson Audio speakers so thought I'd post it here.

Up to now I have always paid cash for my various speakers. The outlay has been modest compared to many people here and I currently have Sophia IIIs as my main speaker. I have fallen hard for the Alexia (haven't heard it yet but hope to at RMAF 2013 but have read some reviews and postings) and giving serious thoughts to upgrading.

However for the 1st time I can't just go buy my speakers and will need to add to my general fund for the next couple of years if I buy with cash. The urge is there to use some type of loan but hate the idea of paying the bank interest.

Anyway I am curious as to what people do in general when buying the (at least to me) more expensive speakers?

Cash is king. I have never purchased any audio equipment on credit. Can't stand the bills.

I only pay for audio equipment with cash in hand, and none of that comes from normal earned income. I have to earn the cash either through working overtime, teaching classes or by getting performance bonuses at work. Even then, there are limits to what I can do. Most of my extra income goes towards other things (vacations, household upgrades, etc).

This is pure speculation, but while there might be some people who take out loans for audio gear, I suspect most people buy what they can afford. Or what their credit card allows, which is a terrible loan. Personally, other than my house, I have paid cash for everything since 1982.

Thanks Guys - for the reality check and bringing me back to normality. I think I was there anywhere but there was definitely a period where I was considering not going the cash route. I keep an "audio account" separate from anything else and will just wait until it has reached the magic number. Who knows by the time I am ready there might be a Sasha II that might fit the bill. I really like the Sophia's but want a bit more bass.

jcarberryj.......Remember, this is a hobby, a past time, not a necessity. More bass is not worth debt.

I only ever pay cash! I push hard for a bigger discount by waving the green notes around to avoid also paying the GST (tax). Most dealers will always give a better discount for cash... If not I go to the next dealer.
