Default Top Ten restaurants in London

Hello all. I would like to try something fun and give you a little break from Audio talk.

I would like to compile a top ten list of restaurants in London.

I will be there with my family (wife and two boys, 14 and almost 12) first part of June. We will be joining another family of 4 with similar composition.

I would like to hear which are your favorites, but based mostly, or completely, if possible, on the food experience and less on the other stuff (location, decor, popularity, etc). A variety in price range is welcome.
This is our first time in London.

And... GO!

Buen Provecho!!

There are a lot of good restaurants in London that i would suggest to start by using TripAdvisor and look for their restaurant ranking. Since it is a big city, you might want to reduce your search to a a particular part of town. Many years ago London was not an oasis for good food but that has changed.

I can suggest Ametsa with Arzak Instruction which is actually a branch of a Spanish restaurant (from San Sebastián). It is inside the Halkin Hotel in Belgravia area.

As the natives tend to stay home and not go out, in fear of the influx of tourists, I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend anywhere at all...

Hope you have a great time here ☔️, weather permitting.

John, my brother lives in London.
We often visit, and I don't see that kind of behaviour.

We once went here:

Good food, unique experience.

There are plenty of excellent restaurants, I'll look into my memories to find some more.

I don't know if these are literally in the Top10 in London but they are some of my favorites;

Great Hunan-cuisine: "BASHAN"

and their sister/related restaurant for

Great Sichuan-cuisine: "BARSHU"

Other great chinese (Peking Duck, Soup Bowls (traditional, etc...): walk Chinatown and smell and look, pick the best, there are many choices,
Barshu and Bashan each have representative Sichuan and Hunan soup bowls that are great as well.

Argentinean Steak and Such: GAUCHO (Picadilly and O2 locations though I believe Picadilly is the original...) and Buen Ayre

Other Argentinean: Portena and Zoilo

SUSHI: Zaibatsu, Zuma, Oka, NOBU, Sake No Hana, Sticks'N'Sushi (several locations), many more good/great Sushi haunts in London

Shawarma: if you are a shawarma fan like myself, London has many great little and not-so-little places for tasty shawarma and related cuisine. Ask the locals, surf Trip Advisor, etc...

Others: there are tons of great Indian, Middle-Eastern of all kinds and other restaurants in and around London; also lots of great pub fare. Same advice given as another poster viz. jump on Trip Advisor and other sites.

Enjoy!!!

Scott's has epic seafood, especially the Dover Sole and raw bar. Located in the Mayfair district.
