My comment simply is meant to give a vote of confidence to the Model T. Wether the Bryston IS the best speaker under 10K, that will be impossible for at least me to ascertain. I live in a small town without access to any high end audio venue. I depend almost 100% on the literature available. Outside these readings, I only have the testament of hundreds of people like you on forums like this. I can confidently tell you that a BIG number of audiophiles and cognoscenti (to borrow a term widely used by Ferrari enthusiasts among others) seem to agree the Brystons are the best bang for your buck under 10K. I will not dive into the myriad reasons why this is so. If you can listen and compare, by all means, what are you waiting for😉 I can tell you my Model T's replaced a pair of Paradigm Reference Studios v.5 and absolutely blow those speakers away without mercy and/or excuses. I have a very difficult room to fill up with good sound, and these speakers have helped immensely.

The price point was very critical to me. If, on the other hand, you have more leeway in this regard, then why not go for the more expensive option. Again, it just seems to me that there is potentially not much gain in performance until you hit the ever-prohibitive-for-me range of 39-40K plus.

You say you can get your hands on a pair of Blades for 15K (MSRP 32k). There was a pair of Model T's here not so long ago for a little over 5K (MSRP 9K)... The Revel Salons have been consistently offered in the market for 11-13K (MSRP 22K). What makes you think the Reference 5 will be worth more than 50-60% in the used market? Just because there are none available to buy second hand right now doesn't mean they won't be worth 50% or so of 18K if/when available. So maybe wait a little and you'll get your hands on a pair of KEF Ref5 for 9K or so😉
I'm not sure I can contribute anything else of at least little, if any value to the OP. Just that the Bryston Model T speaker is marketed towards performance and value, and a whole lot of people that know a whole lot more than I do about this seem to coincide I their assessment and recognition that these soeakers deliver way above their price bracket.

I happen to agree.

Anyways, go for it! Enjoy😄
