Howie......What a treat for the eyes. Beautiful system. I like the racks, too.

I have been reading about the pure Class A integrated amplifier from Accuphase, the E560. Is is a very intereting, and flexible integrated amplifier. It's rated output is 30watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms, 60 watts per channel into 4 ohms, 120 watts per channel into 2 ohms, with THD of .03% from 20 to 20k, and IM distortion of .01%. Excellent specs, especially for an integrated amplifier.

The Accuphase E560 has the ability to accept two optional audio cards from a total of three available. There is a phono stage card that provides for moving magnet and moving coil inputs. There is a 96kHz/24bit DAC card that offers inputs for coaxial and optical fiber connections, and a thrid audio card that provides an additional set of unbalanced line inputs. The E560 comes with a dedicated headphone amplifier, active filter tone controls, loudness compensation, logic-controlled relays, and all signal paths are fully balanced. In addition, this integrated amplifier is equipped with an external preamp switch and power amplifier input connectors, allowing independent use of the power amplifier section.

I find the Accuphase E560 to be an extremely attractive and versatile integrated amplifier.

They do look beautiful. The attention to detail is amazing. The PCB board, internal wires, sockets, binding posts, resistors etc they use are carefully selected and engineered for best performance.

Tommy.......I agree, they are beautiful. If I had a need for an integrated amplifier I would give the Accuphase E560 serious consideration. Into 4 ohm speakers, 60 watts of Class A power has to sound very good, especially coming from an Accuphase product.

One thing I have discovered about Accuphase gear in Balanced (XLR) the pin polarity is reversed on Pin 2 and pin 3 compared to BAT, McIntosh etc. So if anyone plans to use Accuphase with any other brand with XLR's-pins 2 & 3 position must be swapped on the cable end going to the Accuphase gear.

You bet!...

Wasn't a deal killer for me, but I'm not going to rip apart a pair of Apex IC's to use with an Accuphase amp and a MDA1000 or BAT preamp...

Middle of the road IC's or just go all Accuphase-amp & pre. This preamp looks VERY nice-

You'll find that a lot on Japanese electronics. They tend to all be the same, i.e. different from the US spec.

I'll give you an idea about US prices. DP 700 SACD player is about 24K I think. I paid 8k retail (not through a grey importer but a official retailer).

Even Mcintosh dealers in Europe don't have such ridiculous prices.
