By the way, does anyone know how long takes the break-in for these speakers? Mine have about 30 hours, I have read that to get the best are necessary at least 100/120
Thanks |

PMC sound good out of the box but brand new speakers will losen up/settle in after 100-200 hours.
The best bit of advice i can offer you if work on speaker placement because its very important, critical even, and will yield big gains once you get them placed correctly. Once you get them placed right, look into room treatments so you get the acoustics of the room in order and actually hear your setup in its true light. hope this helps |

Thank you again, your advise are well accepted. Speakers are in a living room and they have air around, the placement is more or less like the same I had previously. In the position they are right now, they disapear literally giving a 3D image. However, the feeling is that the lower part is not very loosen up, even though it has improved from the beginning, and the mid/upper part is a little bright with some records. As said they have sounded roughly about 30 hours still far from 100-200.

PMC's are very neutral and wont add any colouration to your music, what you feed them is what they will play.
You can increase or decrease bass by moving them closer (less bass) or further away from the wall behind them (more bass). I suspect the brightness you are hearing is in the mastering of the recordings you are listening to not the speakers. One of the negatives about having a high end audio setup is badly recorded music sounds exactly that, bad. However music recorded really well sounds fantastic. |

I am a first time PMC owner. I just received a pair of Fact 8s on Friday and have been listening to them during the weekend. I've had B&W 803s for the last 16 years. I have a Bryston 4b3, and a bp26.
Right out of the box the mids and highs sound very nice. Very clear, crisp, pronounced. Nice imaging. On the other hand the low end is quite different compared to the 803s. Initially I thought they were lacking bass. I didn't hear as much impact with for ex the kick drum or even the double bass. After 10 hours of play time I am starting to get a bit more. I am happy to have found this thread as it is very educational for me as a newbie with PMC speakers.. |

Welcome to AA Tie_breaker, don't worry about the bass, PMCs have a very long break-in. As said by essjay, 100 or so hours, be patience
