I am willing to bet it does not. Two different brands.
And I am willing to bet that my Valentine remote does not work either! Of course that would not stop me from getting a better and more up to date detector.

The Uniden uses the standard phone jack (RJ11) type power connector, which is also used by others like Escort.

Mike.......Yes, but an RJ11 connector can have up to six contacts. Contact 3 and 4 are for 12 volt power and ground and polarity should be correct. the other four contacts would be used for Smart Cord functions. It is unlikely that Uniden and Escort Smart Cords would be a direct swap. I wouldn't try it on my R3. Where my Uniden R3 is mounted I ave no need for a Smart Cord.

Correct. If it’s only a power cord, it should be ok. If it’s a smart cord, all bets are off...at least as I understand it.

Dan,

I wound up purchasing mine from Amazon for $399.99 delivered. I should have it on Thursday.

Thanks for the hard wire kit link. Initially I’m simply going to use the provided cigarette lighter power cord. Once it warms up a little outside, I’m going to look at my 2 different hard wire options.

The first is similar to yours and would utilize that kit, but there’s a small snag utilizing it on my 2017 Jeep....the fuses are under the hood rather than under the dash, so it won’t be as simple to access power as most installations.

The second option is to steal power from the rear view mirror using 2 pins that push into a wire connector. That’s usually a fairly easy method, but again, the Jeep looks a little tricky since there’s no exposed wiring harness & connector, so it requires removal of some plastic covers to get at the wiring.

https://www.amazon.com/MirrorTap-RJ-.../dp/B00L2SVV2U

One way or another, I’ll get it hard-wired eventually since I don’t want a coiled cord running all over the dash.

Hey Dan, I couldn’t tell from the review but does Uniden have arrows? That’s one function I really like on my max 360. I like to know the direction of the radar. I’ve been spoiled going from Valentine One to Max 360 over the years. Great info on this detector! I actually never heard of them but really impressive.

Richard.......The Uniden R3 has no arrows. I understand how a person could get used to them but I have never found the idea useful. Radar threat is generally always coming at you from the front. I have learned how to watch the signal strength meter to determine if the threat is real or a nuisance, close or distant, getting stronger or fading. I see the arrows as a gimmick. It helped make Valentine One different from the pack. Escort jumped onboard with the MAX360, and now the MAX360C hoping to capture some Valentine customers. How useful those arrows are in identifying the true threat location is questionable at best. Long range detection and good filtering are more important than arrows in my opinion. Like I said in my review, I wanted to find something about the Escort products that would keep my in the fold but I was unable to convince myself that Escort could outperform the Uniden R3.
