I have always been able to "HEAR" the light. I am of the age where vinyl was king of all sources for many years. I had 20+ years of spinning vinyl before i ever knew about CD's. I love vinyl, and have managed to keep a small collection of records through all these years, though nothing like the 1500 albums I had at one time. I am pleased to be able to improve my vinyl playback with the new Ortofon cartridge and the Furutech cable. I may even move up to a decent moving coil cartridge, you never know.

No, and believe me, I tried. I had a phono cable from a mfr who shall go unnamed that put one on my phono cable from him that I sent in for repair, and there was no way it would fit. The Furutech 90 deg DIN is very large:

Because of the design of the SME V arm, and it's rotating DIN socket, and the clearance between the socket and the Gyro's L-shaped frame, there is insufficient clearance between how far down the socket sits and Furutech's DIN plug relative to the frame. The Furutech DIN is so long that it hits the L-part of the frame, and puts considerable strain on the pins inside the socket of the SME V arm and well, it just doesn't fit. Believe me, I tried. It's just too darned big. It's also quite heavy and unless you can dress the cable perfectly with the cable coming out underneath the table, it will pull on the pins in the SME's DIN socket. The perfect sized DIN is a Cardas 90 deg DIN which is very small and compact and light.

Hmmm... How can I check to see if it will fit in a Linn LP12? Website doesn't give dimensions.... maybe in your packaging, might be that info is available? Can I order in longer lengths 1.5M?

Not sure if the LP12 has a detachable tonearm cable....

And you really don't want to run a tonearm cable much longer than 1.5m.

Easy solution. Just change your turntable to accommodate the cable!

I actually don't like the cable...it's a Grover's cable and is fragile. That's why I had to send it in for repair on the first place. The ground strap broke internally at the arm end, which is odd that that end never moves.

I'm very happy with my Zu Mission custom phono cable with Cardas DIN plug, it's also silver like the Furutech and very nice and quiet. It's also thin and flexible and easy to dress.

Now I'm the chuffed owner of a new Steelhead & presently breaking it in. Now its showing up minor deficiencies in my system, i. e. my homemade copper litz phono cable so now it's time for a change. Any ideas on whether the Furutech Ag12 phono cable fit the Manley Steelhead, the L & R inputs on the Steelhead are quite far apart. Any comments on this cable with the Steelhead would be welcomed.

Audio Gremlin.......Specifically, what is the distance between the left and right phono inputs on the Manley Steelhead?
