Yes, thank-you very much Jerome. I pre-paid the 089, and will ask the dealer once again, and then Burmester. The 089 was to have already left Germany last week, but I will check.

If the unit left Germany, that could be more tough with Burmester.
They could ask you to pay the shipping maybe....
But how come you're all paying 100 % of the price when ordering stuff here ?
Is it an obligation ?
In France, we pay about 20 % when ordering and the remaining is paid at the delivery.

Yes, the order has already left Germany. Do you pay only 20% on special international orders also?

What do you call "special" ? a particular color for example ?
Units I bought new last years were a MC275, a C220, a MCD201, a Linn Classik Musik, my PMC speakers.... : they are all coming from foreign countries and I never had to pay more than 20 % before the delivery day.
But I suppose that if I had to order a pair of Wilson speakers in a unique finish / color, I would have to pay the full amount at the order....
But what is special with your 089 , except from being set at 110 V operation?

Sorry to hear you hit a rough spot, this recession really sucks! It was a gutsy purchase, hopefully you won't have to let go of your dream machine...

Thanks, much appreciated. It looks like I should be able to pull it off and keep the 089. If it was only a CDP, then I would have returned it. But the 089 is also a world class pre and DAC. Everytime I go over to my freind's house and listen to his 069, I just have to have a Burmester in my system.
