Thumbs down the story is not finished...

Well this story is starting to smell rather bad.

My dealer does not want to hear about a refund.
He told me that he had the french importer on the phone, and they told him that they don't understand what I'm saying because when they got the first unit back, it was working "perfectly" !! ( I must be a liar right ???? ). The french importer did not call me back as he was supposed to do yesterday.
The dealer told me that he will give me the refund only if the french importer asks him to do so.
I filled a contact form on the Olive site thursday and I did not get any answer.
I just sent a mail today to ask them to make their french importer comply with their rules, which give me the right to ask for a refund if I'm not satisfied.
I will see if they reply to it next monday.

I'm now waiting for a fast relief of this painful relation with Olive and I hope that people there fully understand what is happening here.

I suggest you raise the stakes and call Olive in the USA. I also suggest you fire off an official complaint letter to the head office in California and cc it to the French importer and also cc it to various audio news outlets. Let them have the link to this thread and let it be known that you will create a huge stink if you don't honour their side of the contract. The US office, I am confident, will value PR much more than the French office.

In Bangkok the only way a customer got a major car manufacturer to refund a lemon car was to set it on fire in front of the dealership!

jérôme...I'm hoping your troubles will be solved soon.

Anyway...THX for sharing...I just removed Olive from my shortlist (believe it or not, it was on the top spot)

I'm still baffled by the fact that, in this High End Audio business, some players don't understand the impact of instant sharing of information on prospect's perception and customer relations. The brutal truth is that Olive is ultimately accountable for the whole distribution chain of their products and should act accordingly. Trust is everything.

Others do understand...I had some issues with Amazon...but these were solved without questions asked, trust was re-established and I would recommend to other people doing business with them.

I hope Olive gets the message and does the right thing.

Jacques and Howie,

Thanks for your support !!
Jacques, that's a good thing if you removed Olive from your list. That is also the purpose of my post to inform as many people as I can what's happening there, until I get this issue resolved...
Thanks again friends !

Howie, I will start with Olive and he french importer. I hope that as you say, the US office will take care of that. "Service" is usually not a french name !! I think that I won't buy anymore goods in France, unless stated on the bill " satisfied or your money back during.... days" !

The various audio news outlets will follow shortly if I don't get that refund done, believe me !

Jerome

If you put the purchase on your credit card I would bring the unit back to where you purchased it from and let your credit card company know it was returned . Then ask your credit company to reverse the charge or put it in dispute. If a vendor has too many complaints or disputes there credit card ability can be taken away from them. David

Thanks for the advice David,
I paid partly by cash, and partly by check.
You're right I should have used my VISA Premier...

I still think you must notify Olive HQ. They will be quicker to jump on it and nip it in the bud.
