Ultra Padz

I installed the Ultra Padz under my C500C and C500P preamp today - 3 under each. I told Ivan that I did not expect the dramatic improvement resulting from the Rollerback JR's recently placed under my MCD1K, MDA1K and MEN220. His response was "Keep the Faith". I did.
They really do work. As soon as I put on the piano music of Ann Sweeten, I knew these "new feet" were having a positive effect. The fullness and realism of the piano was immediately apparent. The RB JR's placed under the MCD, etc. was a "knock your socks off" improvement. The Padz under the Pre is a very nice enhancement at every frequency level.
I chose the Ultra Pads because of height considerations in my particular layout. I would highly recommend either product. I think Symposium is a top notch company. Thanks Ivan.

Howard.......I wonder if the Symposium Ultra Padz would deliver the same level of improvement under the MCD500 and MS750 as I have achieved with the Rollerblock Jr.'s. As you noted, "knock your socks off" improvement is a perfect analogy for describing the upgraded performance from placing the Rollerblock Jr.'s under the sources, but I am having difficulty warming to the constant jiggling of the gear when I push any of the control buttons. I really don't care for the gear wiggling back and forth each time it is touched, performance improvements aside. If the improved sonic performance of the Rollerblock Jr.'s can be duplicated to the same degree with the Ultra Padz, this may be a solution to the wiggling equipment issue that I find unappealing.

Ivan.......Yes, I understand. Unfortunately there are no remotes that can insert or remove CD's from the MCD500, or the MS750 CD trays. You have to touch the components to perform that task.

I know exactly what you mean, I've gotten used to them and find them pretty cool.

I think a call to Symposium by you or Ivan is in order. Symposium actually informed Ivan that using the Ultra Padz, in my situation, would be better than using the RB JR's plus a Spacer on each to achieve my needed height. I think either choice, Padz or RB's, would be a good one. Of course, you could get the Padz and just switch them around.

I quickly adjusted to the MCD moving when I put a CD in and now I actually enjoy it and point it out to my friends - who all (except Buddy, Audio 1) think I am nuts to follow my passion to this degree or to even have such a passion. Ivan.......I am not as concerned about the wiggling motion with the MCD500 because any motion in that component happens before or after a disc is played. My real concern is the side to side and front to back wiggling motion of the MS750 when I open or close the CD drawer while loading new discs to the hard drive. Since the hard drive is on continuously, and spins constantly, I have some concerns about the MS750's wiggling and rocking motions causing enough force to create a possible head crash with the hard drive discs. I have no idea how sensitive or immune the Seagate hard drive is to motion while operating. This is what causes me to be nervous.
