When you say cables do you mean plug in versus soldering wires? Dennis evaluates all of the parts we use, and determines what is best for quality, durability, and sound, and the expensive stuff isn't always the best. As far as actually wiring a unit I try to make it so you can see each individual wire so that any errors can be easily found and corrected. I also make the wires a little long so corrections can be made without having to replace the whole wire, and to allow for future modifications. As I build more and more of the same unit the wiring layout becomes more refined or "efficient", and to me, better looking. |

I mean the ground lines
Massive Conductor vs Stranded Wire so far, thanks for the explanations |

The circuit is grounded to the chassis at each terminal strip, the Black ground wire is just for backup in case the connection is compromised.

I believe you are building this preamp for me. I’m honored to be able to see it being built and look forward listening to it with my Inspire 45/2a3 and 6FLV.

@straitwire
Sorry, I think you didn't understand me correctly. it is probably due to the translator program or my ignorance to describe it technically correctly. some manufacturers, even high-priced ones, prefer a different ground routing in the amplifier in the signal path. similar to what Analag Addict showed in the photos when building his PSE. Just a quick question to the experts in the group:
The Inspire LP-2030 preamp and the KT88 FireBottle SEP amp both take a 6.3x32mm 2A slow-blow fuse; correct? Thanks! Chris |

All Inspire amps and preamplifiers use aluminum non ferrous metal chassis not steel chassis, the steel chassis should have a star grounding system. The aluminum chassis does not exhibit circular ground images like steel and therefore individual common ground is fine. In the case of Inspire we use both grounding systems. |

Hey cporada, the LP-2030 takes the 1/2 amp (500ma) slo/blo fuse and the KT88 should have a 2 amp slo/blo.

Thanks, straitwire! I'm glad I checked; it seems I need some new reading glasses :-D
Would there be any issues with trying an "audiophile" 1A slo-blo fuse i have on-hand in the LP-2030? |
