Ordered a Schiit Bifrost with Uber Analog and USB Gen 2 last night and it shipped today. After reading all the comments posted here, I'm looking forward to its arrival. In this day and age of stratospheric audio equipment prices, it's nice to be able to get excited about a component at such a reasonable price!

Congrats! You're going to love it. Be prepared for a fairly lengthy burn-in period; I found it took about 300-400 hours.

Hope you like as much as I did (and you can controle your upgrade urge a bit better than me )
Enjoy your Bifrost and like Puma said, allow for some serious burn in time. After that you should experiment with upgrading powercables, I found a big improvent in changing the stock cable for something better.

Congrats and have fun listening!!!

Thanks for the tips! I'll be sure to give it plenty of break-in time.

Exactly. I found a big improvement from simply adding a Shunyata Venom3. You could even use a Venom3S (source) cable.

Gert-jan,
How long did you find it took for your Gungnir to burn in?

After about 200 hours it sounded at it best.

That was my experience with the Gungnir too. When I got mine I had already read about the Bifrost needing a long burn-in, so I decided not to draw any conclusions for a calendar month.

Plan to purchase my first DAC and it looks like the Gungnir is a great piece of gear at an exceptional price.
