There were two white ones on sale in my country. I ignored it as was looking for black ones. Now, I wish I had bought them as it's highly recommended especially from you.

It's difficult for me to say, since I don't have that much comparative experience. Of the three DACs that I've tried to any great extent, I'd say neutral. Certainly not bright.

I found the Bifrost to be a bit bright when I first got it, but it immediately started smoothing out after a few days, and four months in, I would say that it was rich and musical sounding. One of the largest changes due to burn-in I've experienced in a component. Altogether a wonderful DAC. And for the money, just stupidly good.
