Default VTI 5-Shelf Rack

This has been an exciting week. Handles on Monday, Gold Lions KT88 power tubes on Tuesday, and now today the VTI 5-Shelf rack will arrive. This rack is a duplicate of the one I already have in the studio theater on the right side of the widescreen. This one will go on the left side, and hold the C2300, MC275, satellite receiver, Blu-ray player, and Sonos ZP120. The VTI racks are well made, very stout, and come in a variety of shelf configurations. I'm pleased to be getting a second one. I need it. Mine will have the black support tubes, and the caster kit.

Serge.......I have considered those, and others. I know solid glass is resonant. I presently use Vibrapods, both under the four feet on the Micro Seiki turntable, and under the four feet on the MCD500. I'll have to take a closer look at the FatPadz.

Talk to Peter from symposium, he'll tell you about the sorbothane and other "rubber like" products and why it is not the appropriate choice. FatPadz have made a huge believer out of me.

VTI makes a nice, solid rack. This model has curved and beveled front edge glass shelves, 1/2" thick tempered glass with a weight capacity of 250 lbs. per shelf. With the casters added it is easy to move to access the rear, and then get back into place.

The new rack is on the left with the HD satellite receiver, Blu-ray DVD player, and C2300 installed. I have already connected the variable balanced outputs from the MCD500 to the C2300. That gives me CD/SACD, Sonos network with access to the MS750 server's hard drive upstairs, and access to the Sony 60ES DAT machine in the control room. I moved the Micro Seiki turntable to the new rack so that I can enjoy the tube phono stages in the C2300. I listened through headphones to the C2300 for awhile this evening, and everything is sounding very nice. I may move my Sony K890ES cassette deck to the empty shelf for some cassette fun. The MC275 arrives tomorrow, and the bottom shelf is ready and waiting. I like the way that wall is looking with identical racks on both sides of the Sony 52" widescreen. I love it when a plan comes together.
