The Ref 2 arrived today.
It has only 1 hour now.
I will only say this until a complete review after break in : you don't know your turntable until you hear it with a REAL phono preamp.
The Ref 2 gave me the will to buy a Ref 5.
I'm falling too in the ARC hole...........
There goes my fifty cents on the dollar opportunity, I guess? Seriously, though, I'm glad to hear the excitement in your words, and I extend my heartfelt congratulations on your purchase, Jerome!

Cyril, Thanks for the correction. It should be fun trying to break-in these 2 pieces of equipment at the same time. It's good to be Jerome.

Yeah, getting my Koetsu Urushi Vermilion did that for me.

Thank you friends !

Yes, I ordered the 1100 BUT this is what happened : my dealer told me 2 days ago that he had to ask the importer for a new offer because the first offer he gave me was 1 month ago so the price could be changed.
I was about to send him the funds when he told me that 2 days ago.
Now I'm waiting for the new price. ( I believe that it has something to see with the recent increase of the dollar ) but honestly, I 'm no more sure to place the order for it.
The Ref 2 "eats for breakfast" my MDA 1000 and I doubt that the 1100 could be close to it. If I buy the 1100 and end up listening to vinyl 90 % of the time, then this purchase would have been "overkilled".
I will see when I will get his new offer.

I understand now why my "LP12SE" friend does not want to hear digital anymore. To get this sound with digital, if possible, would probably need the mega bucks of the whole dCS combo....
