MP Filter: Listen or Measure?

As far as I know, the MP filter is in the C-7xeMP, C-5xeMP, QB-9, and DX-5.

There are two settings for the filter: listen and measure.

Can anyone share their preferences for these two settings? (I own a C-5xeMP). I've read online that some folks run 'listen' (Which I do presently).

Does anyone have any thoughts to share on the setting of the MP filter?

I thought the 'measure' setting was technically more accurate, but the 'listen' setting more musical (again, what I've read).

Use the listen.

Measure provides an extended flat frequency response at the expense of time domain performance (more ringing).

Listen provides excellent time domain response (very low pre and post ringing) at the expense of early high frequency roll-off.

Especially if you're over 30 (probably a pretty safe assumption on this board), you should use the listen setting. The roll off above 20khz will likely be inaudible to you.

Thanks for the advice, I've been using Listen for a while. Wondering what I was missing. Perhaps I should read the white paper again...
