Dan thanks for the info. I would not have thought of that. Not easy to buy these CRT mounts any longer, but I think I'll be able to get some. I will mount these LSR32 speakers on the wall and see if I can get a JBL 4645 18" sub to work well with these speakers. I will demo important music in history for high school students.

jorukfundan........Try to find wall mounts that have a strap that will go around the speakers to secure them to the mount. Mine came with black nylon straps. My wall mounts have been on the wall for 13 years without issues.

Thanks Dan, this system is pretty much done with the exception of speaker wire, which I may or may not upgrade at a later date. Just going to enjoy it for now.

Following Dan's advice in this thread, I tried some existing panels in front of the 60" screen and got a little better definition and wider/deeper stage. So off went the order to GIK... and then a complex mounting project taking the weekend across the windows. The panels mount behind the screen or sit on the credenza for serious listening (in two sections, so need a shim still to make up for the screen stand base -- not to fear their is a safety strap). The sound is even improved some when they are mounted behind the screen.

Thank you Dan once again!

William.......Nice job. The GIK panels look excellent. I am happy that you noticed an improvement in the sound of your system. It is amazing how we can make adjustments to the acoustics of a room and suddenly find a deeper, more focused and well defined sound stage. Kind of nice not to have to stare at a blank TV screen while enjoying music. Happy listening.

Came out excellent. Good planning to cover both listening scenarios.

The top of the hanger is formed to the shape of the top of the widescreen television. Both hangers are identical. I used shrink wrap tubing over the part of the hanger that contacts the television frame to keep the steel from scratching the TV frame. Once the hanger was hooked into the hole and aligned upright I shot a staple around the hanger to hold it in place. That way I can easily lift the panel on and off of the television without having to try and hold the hangers in place. It works like a charm.

Cool. I have been thinking of doing exactly the same thing as my HDTV sits right next to my right big Dynaudio.

I thnk you could also use bicycle spokes in the same way, Dan, the end of the spoke could go into a hole in the back of the acoustical panel. They certainly would be strong enough....
