The XA100.8s arrived, are installed and ready to play...

These are good-looking amps.

First impressions from tonight...

The point 8s do a nice job separating individual instruments in complex orchestral music and the bass is very good. On the minus column, its voicing it's warmer than I like and the sound is not as airy as that from the point 5s.

I'll keep listening for another week, but my feeling so far is that the performance change in my system is not significant enough to make the investment to go from the XA100.5 to the point 8s.

I'll keep it on 24/7 and will keep playing music.

hallo Carlos,

the Xa100.8 is a great ampli.

After 10hours you will be very happy! (and later again!)

when I have replaced my Xa100.5 with the .8 I have not thought to feel a difference so great!

The more power/ampere make a good job.

the temperature of the series 8 is also less than the 5 series and is sure not a bad point.

I think that the Pass point 8 is a very amazing amplifier: is not only a "facelifting" inside inside they did a great job.

greeting O.

The point 8 series was built based on the technology developed for the Xs series, so you can go with, say, the XA 160.8 amps and the XP30 preamp and get similar results.
