Ian !
Thanks a lot !
Yep, PMC speakers are TRUTHFUL ! very well said...
On a side note, I have been curious about the connection of the tweeters to the bass connectors with the jumpers...

Ian.......Thanks for the link to the IB2i review. I enjoyed reading it, and feel exactly the same way about my PMC EB1i's.

Jérôme.......I corrected my typo. Thank you. I am very happy with the TRUTHFUL sound of my EB1i's. I would enjoy auditioning the IB2i speakers. Unfortunately there are no PMC dealers with showrooms near me. If the IB2i's truly raised the bar for my ears I might be interested in a trade, but they would have to be very impressive to lure me away from my PMC EB1i's.

Same feelings here Dan. I was just kidding because it seems that lately, your money has wings to get out of your wallet as soon as you see a nice piece of gear !
I have a dealer nearby. And I did not find the time for a listening.

Well, I have to chime in.

I owned the EB1i's and upgraded to the Ib2i's. I did not have a chance
to listen to the IB2i's before i purchased them.

I am not putting down the EB1i's as they are a great speaker.

The midrange on the IB2i is so much smoother and cleaner. After hearing it I could not go back to the midrange driver in the EB1i's. I was quite surprised.

The bass is not as deep as the EB1i's, but very quick, tight, as explained in the
article. More real sounding to my ear. I prefer the bass on the IB2i's better, and I never get tired of how it sounds.

As for the brass connecters between the posts, throw them away.... on the EB1i's also.

Bi-wire and use a good jumper from the mid.
Even using reasonable $9 ft speaker cable for the jumpers made a big difference over
the brass connectors.

I have also noticed the difference in how the bass and mid sounds, when you plug the speaker wire directly into the bass or mid posts. Depending on the wire, you can have tighter or looser bass, or rich full midrange or more clinical. You have to experiment.

As you see I am really happy with these.

Your enjoyment is very communicative.
I have to go to listen to them and better, see if I can borrow a pair...
