You can get yourself a kill-a-watt and find out for yourself:

They did get back to me quickly with this info:
S200 amplifier: Standby - 1.5 watts, Idle - 20 watts Preamp: Standby - <1 watt, Idle - 4 watts So it doesn't seem like I'm wasting much energy leaving both on 24/7, less than a 30 watt bulb. Am I correct with that assumption? Last edited by Photoboy; 07-25-2019 at 03:09 PM. Reason: Updated data |

If those numbers are correct?
Yeah, no way I would turn them off. My Parasound JC2 preamp probably draws almost that at standby. Use a Sunfire amp, which probably draws about the same. I'm just fine with 60 watts give or take between the two of them. |

"Thanks to some new power-management circuitry from Mr. D’Agostino, the Momentum only draws one watt when in idle mode—which is less than an iPhone charger!" So again, you can't believe everything you read on the internet. https://www.tonepublications.com/rev...reo-amplifier/ |
