I had both in my system. They really sound very different. IMHO if you use the Dart preamplifier your choice will go towards the Dart. I have listened now several times to the Dagostino and decided not to have an opinion before I listen to it using its preamplifier - every time I found great things but something was missing, some lack of global coherency - neither apple nor orange! Although some people use the Dart preamplifier in XLR mode in my system I found it inferior to the 50 ohm or RCA ones .

Fremer used the Dart pre amp rca with adaptors with the Dag amps.

Well put. Even with all its deficiencies, the darTZeel ends up being "just right", while the other amps usually excel in one or two specific areas.
And I can't stress the XLR thing enough: avoid it. If you can't mate it to the 18NS and use the 50ohm BNC, at least go RCA.
