You know, a good compromise between these two subs is the E-112.

I have double E-112's one each outside my new Model T speakers, and I like it

They are powerful in HT duty, and non-intrusive and musical in 2ch...

I totally agree with you if your using them for both HT and music. In my case I have 2 dedicated systems for HT and music and have found that the 10s meld a bit better with high resolution, fast speakers like my 7Ts just for music. Since the Aerials use 4th order crossovers and since the JL does as well, they make music like I've not heard for less than 30/40k. Again. My 2 cents

So I will not be disappointed in choosing the e-sub over the fathom? I will mainly use it for ht. Looking at two placed next to my front 802d2's. If you agree what size would you recommend. My room is about 20 feet wide by 30 feet long with 8 foot ceilings.

I've never listened to the e-110, but for $800 (total MSRP) more, you will never have to stop, look back, and say "I wish I had bought the bigger sub". Just like a tv:thumbs:

If you are going to use the Es for home theater as their primary usage I'd go with the 112s. My dedicated listening area for HT and music is 33x17. I find that my dual E110s play loud and low enough for me. The 112s go 2 HZ lower and have a bit more power. That being said we are all different and what works for me may not work for you. Again. If you have a relatively good acoustic room I don't think you'd have much use for needing the adjustments of the Fathoms. But rather the crossover in the Es to better the dynamics of your existing mains and blend them to where they are used only when needed. Again. My 2 cents

My 2 cents says you won't be disappointed. Of course it depends much on your room acoustics. But being able to xover at a lower frequency will help negate those factors. Difficult rooms need digital help. Good rooms don't. Again my 2 cents n
