Mine are all General Electric - which is one of the big guys, I guess, but not so big in HiFi.

I buy the 15' length so I can cut it in half and make two 7-1/2 foot speaker wires.

And, I can buy these neat little RCA plug thingies and put them on the end of the wires and connect my CD player or 8 track up to my amplifier.

Sounds Great

Julian - how do you deal with those weird looking connectors that have three pins?

Too funny.

We should do a "Top Ten Julian Posts" list. I can think of a few already and have not yet plowed through a fraction of his 5,000+ posts.

Redm:
Anti Cables speaker cables blew the Audioquest Rockefeller out of the water! So much less restricted sounding.
Their ICs destroyed the Audioquest Columbia.
After about 100 hours they really came to life. They made things easier to listen to and made me re-appreciate CDs I've heard a million times before.

Julian, you must be kidding--you need to find that thread about shopping at Home Depot for DIY Hi-fi.

Kid ye not . . . some years ago, The Absolute Sound reviewed some speaker wire from Home Depot (believe it was a solid conductor copper wire - not stranded) and thought it compared favorably with some of the better than entry level, expensive stuff.

Julian
That was about 10 years ago. I tried that using Home Depot heavy duty extension cable and gold connections. They sounded good until I compared them to some Analysis Plus cables I bought shortly after. I think a lot has changed in 10 years. (I can tell every time I try and figure out who is looking back at me in the mirror)

You'd be amazed by what can be had at HD and Lowes. Their (Carol) 14-3, 12-3, and 12-4 wire can make a hell of a power cord, with a little work. Want a fancier-looking cord? Perhaps one as thick as a firehouse to be wrapped in a custom jacket? All the supplies are there, as well. HD sells P&S plugs, which are also very good.
