Default Amp Stand on a Rack?

My grandpa and I just finished a new rack for my audio gear. I couldn't be more pleased with the result....made with 2" walnut shelves and 2.5" walnut legs....absolutely beautiful.

I made the lower shelf to have 14" of clearance for my Mcintosh 6600. I could place the Mc and leave it alone w a ton of headroom for cooling. I have also thought about using an amp stand on top of the shelf....there would still be ample room for cooling. Have any of you seen or heard of an amp stand being used in conjuction w an audio rack? overkill? If I built one to match the rack it would look incredible. Thoughts?

Bikeman71.......We're kind of visual around here. How about posting a photo of your new rack. Then we'll have some idea how to respond to you question.

Still in the finishing stages with another 3 or 4 coats of poly to go, but I'm already thrilled with the outcome. I'll do a write up of the build later....

Beautiful, I love the finish. Is that Brazilian Walnut?

Great work.

Bikeman71.......That is a fine looking audio rack, especially knowing where the walnut came from. Answering you question about adding an amp stand, I think it is unnecessary. It might even take away from the clean lines of the rack.
