I'm about to purchase the ovation with the magnify arm. I asked my dealer about the VTA Lifter 2 and he told me it compromises the integrity of the arm and he doesnt recommend it.

Dean what do you think of the VTA Lifter 2

The VTA Lifter2 works great and it is solid technology. Build quality is superb. Did the dealer explain how it compromises it, or can he demonstrate that or provide evidence?

I first added the VTA Lifter2 when I had the Clarify arm. I certainly did not notice anything that would lead me to think the arm was compromised by adding it. I now have the Magnify and VTALifter2 and love it.

I don't think Clearaudio would push the VTALIfter2 as an option for their premier pivot arms (Magnify and Universal) if it compromised them. I think your dealer may be talking s$&t.

The VTA lifter can't be used with the Ovation and the Universal tonearm because it would place the arm too high. It can be used with the Clarify if the table is modified with an optional arm board. I am not sure about the Magnify - yes, ask Joe. He was very helpful. If you need a VTA 2 lifter let me know. Might have one for a fire sale price. I was going to hold onto it and use it with the Clarify arm, but I'm more of a lock and rock guy when it comes to VTA.

The VTA Lifter2 can definitely be used with the Magnify arm. If you look at my picture above you'll see it is my exact setup: Ovation/VTA Lifter2/Magnify.

I don't have a Clearaudio turntable but I do have a Double Matrix RCM, A Titanium (series one) and a Goldfinger Statement which is still in its box awaiting the arrival of a Phantom Elite.

Since its been sometime, thought I bump this thread.

Moved my MT-10 into one of the listening rooms, awaiting MT-5.

Main listening room will do with just digital for now.

Nothing better than staring at those McIntosh lights with the soothing sounds of great music. ")
