Julian Caves and buys a Fuji X-E1
Can't afford to keep up with Stephen, but I did succumb to the Fuji Fever and ordered a Fuji X-E1 - - Little brother to Stephen's X-Pro1.
Little smaller, but a beautiful camera. Has the same sensor and uses the same lenses as the X-Pro1. It arrived today courtesy of my local UPS man in brown, and I'm just sitting here, listening to music and trying to figure the thing out. The camera came with Fuji's brand new 18-55 f/2.8-4 zoom lens, which is reputed to be very, very good. Took a few pictures before the light failed this afternoon, just to make sure the camera works - it did - and the pictures, while of ordinary subjects are very crisp, sharp and the colors are extraordinary. I'm very impressed by this little camera!

A note. . . Before I bought the X-E1, I ordered and tried two other cameras - and returned them.
1. The "new" Sony Nex 6 . . Very nice little camera, excellent power zoom kit lens, Just didn't feel as sturdy as my previous Leica/Canon/Nikon cameras - although the image quality was about as good as anything I'd ever owned. - But the reviews do say that the image quality on the Fuji is better.  2. The Olympus OM-D E-M5. Superb body, probably the most advanced mirrorless camera extant. My only problems with this camera were that I really didn't like the styling of the body (looks like a tiny, little, miniature DSLR - "Look Mama, I shrunk the camera"), and the kit 12-50 mm zoom lens was only mediocre (in my opinion), and (again in my opinion) was too large for the body.

Julian.......Another feature I like on the Fuji X-E1, it has a pop up flash plus a hot shoe. Handy.

The XE-1 has some good press and I'm thinking about getting one myself. How do you like the EVF ? Does it bother you not having the OVF ? It is real nice kit with the 18-55 lens. I read that zeiss is also going to be offering auto focus prime lens for fuji X mount which also a nice plus .
