Me too, except I have a bunch of Nikon lenses and thought it a good idea to try out the newer and smaller Nikon bodies before making any (more) system changes.

My next step though is to give my Canon G-10 to one of my children and order a Fuji X-10 for my "carry everywhere" camera.

Sounds like a good plan, Julian. I for one would love to step up to a Canon 5D MkIII, as my 1D MkII, while performing very well for motorsports, is getting a bit long in the tooth; it's eight years old now, and I bought it from a Canon rep 7 years ago!

I have a G9 that I bought when they came out in 2007, but it's sat almost entirely unused; I need to sell it; it's like new. I just never use it, the noise performance above ISO 100 is just terrible; my little Fuji F31fd completely rips the arms and legs off it and then kicks it across the street with respect to image quality. The camera also has an LCD screen with a very unnatural blue tinge, and the camera just never resonated with me as a "old-timer" manual-focus-OM-1 type of guy. The wonderful Fuji X-series do; they make me want to pick up the camera and get out and shoot! Plus those Fuji colors-gasp!

I think the X-10 is the perfect carry-everywhere camera. It fits easily in a jacket, coat, or photo vest pocket, and in the Sci&Tech event I had to cover last week for my company, the X-10 saved my *ss as I was not allowed to use flash. I got a lot of wonderful candids with it in available light as it has such terrific dynamic range/low light performance. And it's innocuous as all get-out, and allowed to me to be very unobtrusive.

O.K. Stephen, you made me do it. - I ordered a Fuji X-10 this afternoon and, thanks to Amazon Prime + $3.99, it will be here tomorrow afternoon.

And my "lucky daughter" will have a very nice "like new" Canon G-10 in her Christmas stocking this year.

Awesome!

I wanna see pics and what you think of it when you get it!

Don't be suprised if it competes surprisingly well with your Nikon 5100....

Did you know Nikon will officially announce the Nikon 5200 on November the 6th?

The new Nikon D5200 will have slightly different specs than the D3200:

It will use the same 24MP DX-format CMOS sensor
EXPEED 3 processor (same as in the D3200)
ISO range: 100-6,400 (expandable up to 25,600, D3200 could go only up to 12,800)
2,016 pixel RGB metering sensor (same as the D600, the D3200 had a 420 pixel RGB sensor)
Continuous shooting speed: 5fps (the D3200 could do only 4 fps)
Vari-angle LCD screen (3", 921k dots)

Ah, that explains why I didn't see any more 5100s at the local Costco last week...

Well, that didn't last long!! I see you have already purchased an X-P1. Nice! I was going to recommend that you should buy an X-100 too, but it may be better to wait & see if Fuji comes out with an X-200 with an X-Trans sensor.

Cheers,
kev
