Perhaps we are talking about two different things. I am speaking of the total amount of amperes the surge strip is rated to draw from the wall outlet. If your plug on the strip looks like the first diagram, the strip is rated for a maximum of 15 amperes. If your plug looks like the second diagram, the strip is rated for a maximum of 20 amperes. The next two plug sizes are 30 amperes (similar to your dryer outlet) with 10 gauge wire, and 50 amperes (similar to you range/oven outlet) with 8 gauge wire.
The ones that I have are marked for 40A. Radio Shack use lots of after market stuff from different vendors- they put their name and logo on it for sale. THe AC cord is rather thick too.

Greg.......I'm thinking it must be labeled for the amount of current it is capable of shunting to ground. Does your plug look like either of the diagrams? Is the strip plugged into a standard wall receptacle?

The AC plug is a standard heavy duty grounded wall plug-just the stock MAC power cord for my 2102.

I'm doing some research right now on a Bybee power conditioner- I may get 2.
Bybee products are great, but they don't have a night/day difference as some would claim. Rather the effect is more fundamentally better for the over all performance. Some will consider the cost appropriate while others ridiculous and not worth the extra dollars.
Their stuff is hand made and a proprietary design is employed in the manufacture of their products.
Once you try Bybee stuff in your system you'll want to keep it- cost will be a issue for most.

Very nice! They are the new G7 metallurgy. The mids are sweat and highs are extended yet it's not fatiguing. Strings and human voices are so sweet to listen to.
But a 1m cord costs more than my pre and poweramp.
