Cool, good company, I did an industry pharmaceutical rotation with Novartis when I was in pharmacy school.

Indeed. If you want to live where you can walk to restaurants, etc., then the areas closer to downtown on the south and west are your best bets. Move out to places like Southlake and you will have to get into your car for everything. Pretty isolated way of living to my ay of thinking. Ft. Worth has a good selection of museums, music of all types, botanical garden, zoo, etc. And, it is still a city where much, if not most, of the entertainment and night-life is centered in and around the downtown area. Nice big park along the river, etc. Several of the areas close-in to downtown are still being 'gentrified', so good opportunities, depending on what you want.

Small world. My sister was an animal lab person at Alcon for a bunch of years (now retired). If you are in the city your commute will be faster/easier heading down I-35W to Alcon as you will be going against rush-hour traffic into the city. Same going home. But, will still be a zoo. My sister lives on the far south edge of Burleson, but is there as she has 70 acres for her horses. Burleson has some nice sub-divisions and is an easy commute to Alcon. But, you will be stuck in your car for everything. Mass transit is almost non-existent in TX.
