New incoming E-mails are no longer instantaneously announcing themselves and appearing on the unlocked screen. Checked 'Settings' and all seems correct. Bummer!

One thing I noticed is that all the switches for notifications and location services, allowing programs to opeate in the background, were somehow switched "on" when I downloaded IOS 8, and slowed battery life considerably.

My daughter said that her iPhone 5 went from a usual "end of day" remaining charge of around 70% to a quite low 39%'

My 5s went down from about 75% to around 65% which wasn't nearly as bad as the "5".

i turned most of these "off" and "business as usual" on both phones

I no longer have Bluetooth capability with my car since the update. Apparently many people have this issue. Not good.

I found this info. Scroll down a little to a posting by a user "unknown".

No problems yet with connection issues (Mercedes & Lexus). Has worked perfectly (so far!)

But I haven't sat on my phone in my pocket either, and bent it!

I updated to iOS 8 on an iPhone 5 with no issues so far. But if you want to be cautious, wait until iOS 8.1 comes out. That's usually the one that fixes all the iOS x.0 issues/bugs.

I like the new option of being able to use the mic to return texts. This may help a bit on the texting while driving for many people. It is much more accurate than Siri which I have stopped using for the most part.
I also like the new spell check.

However the blue tooth issue for me would of kept me from updating to iOS 8 had I been aware of it. I have read turning off iCloud should resolve this issue and I'll try this later today.
