Default White Bear Lake or bust

Last night I dropped off my Magnepan 3.7's at Old Dominion freight Line INC. After reading all the comments on the improvements I just had to get the upgrade. Sheila in parts told me that they are looking at 4 to 6 weeks back log. Old Dominion did encourage me to put the 3.7's on a pallet which should get them safely there. Total shipping cost from Michigan was $255 with insurance. I also ordered some Mye stands hee hee hee.

That's great, Mike. It looks like you'll be set with the 3.7i.

I've dealt with Old Dominion and they provide good service - the pallets are definitely the way to go.

Please let us know how the update sounds when you get them back. I also have 3.7s and am considering the upgrade. Thanks in advance!

I sure will Sal.

Do you or Carlos use Stillpoints under your speaker stands?

Thanks,

~Mike

No Stillpoints for me. I would need eight of them so too rich at this point.

I use the spikes that came with the Mye stand. No issues here. Did you get the stealth or regular version for your 3.7s?

No, I'm just using the stock Maggie stands at this point.

I'm not sure. I sent Grant a picture of the "The part time Audiophile" Scott Hull's 3.7's with stands and Grant said they would look like those. All the frame work is behind the speaker.

Carlos, I just stopped reading the AA classical thread for a year and got my music purchases down by 70% and used that to fund the stillpoints...

Thanks for the tip, Graham. You must have been buying a lot of music, man!

I am definitely interested in this product and will check it out. I think that will be the capstone for my audio pursuits and my system.

Between you, Bart and Julian I was constantly getting great new leads on music, I think I had developed a genuine hi res problem and was playing albums about once on average... I have 5 different hi res versions of the German Requiem alone lol.

Had a break and put the budget (plus some) into some Shunyata and Stillpoint system upgrades and now back on track and buying as much music as ever and also enjoying it more than ever... The Maggie's make music alive and make buying music equally irresistible... now loving all that great classical and jazz and have the perfect speakers to bring it to life.
