I would buy the most neutral color to preserve resale value, becuase you just know you'll upgrade sooner or later. M-cast black or pewter. Why give someone a reason to say "no"?

Default A friend sent me some nice photos of his beautiful S5's ....

He just ordered the grills and says they have no effect on the sound. They are acoustically transparent.

What color are those speakers?

I have seen the red up close and personal and they are stunning. Orange is my absolute least favorite color for anything.

I worry that red speakers may become less appealing than a more neutral color eventually. Also, as much as I love the look of high-gloss finishes, I hate swirls and scratches even more. Guess I would prefer one of the M-cast finishes for decades of worry-free use.

Regarding your attached pictures, do you know what spikes the S5 is standing on? Doesn't look like standard magico spikes. Possibly critical mass systems "RiZE" feet???

Stillpoints Ultra SS with bases. Next he plans on putting both speakers on top of symposium ultra platforms
